"According to Yahoo Japan, though the investigation is mainly targeting the English scanlation, 3 arrested men have confessed that some translators and groups are located in China. There may be more that they would tell the police..."
Update: The Association of Copyright for Computer Software reported on Thursday that the two Chinese men from Asaka, Saitama took a chapter of The Seven Deadly Sins and posted it on the website Red Hawk on October 5.
Then someone asked him:
Have somebody knocked on your door yet? I mean if Red Hawk Scans site got seized as evidence in the case against the raw providers.
His response:
Hah, they have no power in Europe.
He seems pretty chill. Yet, they closed the website. Imperial Scans closed too, by the way. "
"Not at all. Not even close. The current arrests have nothing to do with scanlations. It's the publishers, and the authorities arresting people for uploading manga, same as they've done for years. It's just this time they happened to stumble across the source for several speed scanlators.
The absolute most this will do is push a few series to be scanlated closer to the official release date, when the source of the leaks is much more difficult to find than figuring out a delivery guy is selling a few copies."
"Currently it's listed as US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. "
